Photography in public spaces

The ACLU explains that photographing things plainly visible in public spaces is generally protected. Location rules can still apply, including rules for equipment, exclusive use of public property, parks, and beaches.

MJF Media does not claim that a photographed surfer sponsors or endorses Mikey Clicks. Session proofs are displayed so surfers can locate photographs and decide whether to purchase the photographer's artistic work.

Your privacy and removal requests

If you appear in a public proof and would prefer that it not be displayed, contact MJF Media. Include the session date, beach location, and photo code when possible so the correct image can be identified quickly. MJF Media will promptly review reasonable requests to remove a proof or identifying first name from the website.

Removal of a public proof does not transfer copyright or ownership of the original photograph. It simply removes that proof from public display on Mikey Clicks.
